Bike Riding

Stella got a balance bike for her 2nd birthday but is still not great at riding it.
Dad got her a bike trailer so we can still take some rides this summer.
We took a test ride around the neighborhood earlier this week and Stella had a blast.

First camping trip

Last week, we picked up the new trailer (greywolf 23 dbh). Joe spent most of the last week getting it organized for this weekend's maiden voyage.
We spent last night at Mountain View Campground in Morrisville, VT.
Stella got her first lesson on building a campfire.
We, of course, made s'mores. Stella liked the s'mores but the melted marshmallow was a little to messy for her taste.
She really enjoyed having the bottom bunk all to herself. It was like her little clubhouse.
Stella seemed to sleep very well but woke up early. Mom and Dad didn't sleep quite as well.
On Saturday, we walked for a while on the Stowe Recreation Path. There were lots of areas to stop and relax or, in Max's case, go for a swim.
The weather was beautiful and everything was in full bloom. Even the dandelions looked pretty in the grassy fields bordering the path.
Stella enjoyed picking the flowers and making bouquets.
After our walk, we went back to the campsite and started a fire to cook dinner.
Stella helped prep some snacks.

Stella's beauty parlor

Stella noticed mom's painted toenails and wanted to paint hers.
She picked out bright pink polish for herself.
She was pretty happy with them being pink now. She wanted to paint her fingernails but we'll wait for another day for that.
She proudly showed off her new nails to max who must have asked her to paint his nails.
She also touched up mom's nails.

Grandma and Jen visit part 2 - 4/28-5/7/16

Grandma, Jen, Stella and Dad went over to Moss Glen Falls Natural Area near Stowe, VT.
Easy hike to take in views of Moss Glen Waterfalls! Stella found a walking stick along the way.
Dad and Stella admire the views.
A break in the rain and we were on our way.
A must see for ice cream lovers - Ben & Jerry's Factory, Waterbury, VT! Is this a new nutty flavor?
Stella really enjoyed the free sample at the end of the tour...although it appears she got more ice cream on her mouth than in her mouth. Ummm...Brownie Batter!!!!
Blue Stone Pizza was a big hit for all, especially Jen, who was hoping we could go back the next day.
The sun finally came out toward the end of the week. Time to go to the park.
Wee!
We also made a trip over to Vermont Teddy Bear & Wildflowers Art Studio this week. Thanks for visiting - Grandma & Jen!

Grandma and Jen visit part 1 - 4/28-5/7/16

After spending Friday in Boston, we made our way to Gloucester, MA. 4/30/16
Where we went on a whale watching tour with Seven Seas Whale Watching. After about an hour on the boat we made it to our destination - Stellwagen Marine Sanctuary. It didn't take long to start spotting whales!
Many Humpback Whale sightings on this particular day! The Captain estimated at least 50 Humpbacks!
Every year the whales return to the area as the water begins to warm in April and May. What a great experience!
Man at the Wheel - Fisherman's Memorial to honor the thousands of fisherman lost to sea in Gloucester's first three centuries.
Fishing boats and lobster cages - "America's oldest fishing seaport" Gloucester, MA.

Also spent a few hours walking around Salem, Massachusetts. Replica of a colonial trade ship pictured below.
