Visit from Uncle Cammy

Cameron was our first official visitor in Vermont.
The weather was the coldest we've seen so far here. During the day, it warmed up to around -5 but, at night, the temps were down around -15 with a windchill that brought it down to around -30
Luckily, Cameron has some nice winter gear that helped when we had to go out and walk the dogs.
We had to find some indoor activities with Stella though.
We stopped by Sierra Trading Post and Stella gave us a fashion show.
At dinner, Stella was having a good time mimicking Uncle Cameron.
Monday the weather got a little warmer (into the teens at least) so we were able to get outside for a little bit.
We did some sledding at the Trapp Family lodge near Stowe, VT.
Stella didn't mind the cold too much as long as she was being held. She wasn't a big fan of sledding because of the snow blowing up into her face though.
We also made it over to Moss Glen Falls for a easy hike to what was a frozen waterfall.
Stella had the most fun throwing and kicking snow with Uncle Cameron.
She thought was especially entertaining when Cameron put his face in the snow.
Thanks for coming to visit Cammy!!

Stella's new words

Stella is picking up many new words every day. She's starting to learn her colors although she tends to say "blue!?!" Most often when asked what color something is.
She is especially good at naming the colors of her treat M&M's that she gets for potty training (blue, "yeyow", green, purpew)
She is getting better at asking for specific foods like "nana" (banana), cheese, fish (goldfish crackers), choos (juice)
She's also gotten pretty comfortable with the winter clothes she wears regularly now like coat/jacket, boots, mittens, hat.
She likes things a certain way and will ask for a "napkin" if she makes a "mess." And she likes to tell mom and dad to "seat" or tell the dogs to "go yay down"
She also likes to put a "diapah" on "Elmo" and put him to bed with a "blankie" and reads a story.
She is starting to sing the alphabet song and count 1,2,3 in her own language.

2016 Penguin Plunge

Today we went to the waterfront to watch the annual Penguin Plunge! Brrrr!
Young and old braved the chilly temperatures and took the plunge into 37 degree Lake Champlain. Captain America,
his superhero buddies, Vikings, Gnomes, and many others jumped in. All proceeds raised go toward Vermont Special Olmpics.
Maybe we will take the plunge next year?

Stella, Mom and Dad creating a masterpiece! 2/2/16

Stella, Mom & Dad spent the evening painting @ Wildflowers Art Studio.
Cheese!
Creating colorful art with glue, salt and water colors.
We watched Stella paint her masterpiece to canvas! Mom & Dad joined in on the fun of painting our hands and making handprints! Turned out pretty good!
All three of us had a great time!

Potty training news!

Stella has been doing really good with going "pee pee in the potty." Today we took it a step further! For the first time, Stella went "poo poo in the potty!"
Recently, she has been using the potty a couple times a day. M&M's are a nice incentive - letting Mom know just how much she likes them on Sunday, when Mom forgot to give Stella a "treat!"
