Baby Einstein

Stella is taking after Einstein but not because of her IQ (although she is surely a genius!) She has started styling her hair similar to his wild bouffant.
She is blessed with lots if hair but most of it is on the very top of her head.
Her daycare teachers like to play salon with her. She has come home with several new hairstyles lately.

Grandma, Uncle Jason & Aunt Jen visit Knoxville

DSC_1129DSC_1130

Grandma, Uncle Jason and Aunt Jen came down to Tennessee for a weekend visit. We spend Saturday in Knoxville, going to our neighborhood garage sale, downtown and a BBQ at the house. 9/20/14

Plenty of sunshine all weekend. Dad and Stella ready to walk around the neighborhood garage sale. After the BBQ, the temperature dropped which made for a perfect fire on this fall evening. Of course we had to have some smores, which were tasty.

Jason took care of a wasp problem we were having. “The Wasp Slayer” must have killed 35 or more angry wasp and the nest while we watched from a safe distance inside the house.

On Sunday, we spent most of the day at Pigeon Forge riding go karts, eating fudge and a visit to the new Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville.

Stella 5 month pictures

DSC_1090

Wow! Hard to believe our little buddy is now 5 months.

It took a little extra work to get these pictures because she was occupied by her new obsession – her toes and feet.

This week, her daycare had a couple of kids out sick and Stella started showing signs of a cold coming on. Despite the runny nose and slight fever, she was still in good spirits.

At five months old, Stella is much more talkative making a variety of new noises every day. As you can tell from the pictures, she loves to play with her feet. She is getting closer to rolling over and is very good at grabbing and holding her toys and bottle. Even though she has tons of toys to play with, she seems happiest when she is doing whatever mom and dad are doing.

Stella’s 1st vacation: beach pics

IMG_2488

Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Stella enjoyed her 1st trip to the beach. We were all happy to be out of the truck after a long day of driving. Our 1st full day we spent some time on the beach walked around exploring the town.

In the distance you can see the Ocean Grill and Tiki bar on the pier where we ate a number of times during the week.

Stella’s 1st time putting her feet in the ocean. She danced around and stomped her feet in the waves as they reached the shore. She seemed really fascinated by the water rushing over her toes and her feet sinking into the soft sand.

Stella's first vacation

We took a few days off the week of Labor Day to take a trip to Carolina Beach, NC.
She did well on the 7 hour drive but, just like mom and dad, was ready to be out of the car for a while by the time we arrived.

One our first full day at the beach, we went for a evening stroll on the beach and took a few pictures. More to come!

Little piggies discovered part 2

Recently Stella started grabbing her toes and feet. She also discovered that by bending and pulling her feet, she could now suck on the little piggies.
Ummmm.......me hungry for little piggies!

1st Tennessee tailgate. 8/31/14

Stella's 1st Vols tailgating experience. Utah State vs. TN Vols 8/31/14.
Mom carried her around in a wrap most of the time. She seemed to enjoy it, taking it all in and kicking her feet around.

Uncle Jim and his friend Jeff made the trip to Knoxville for the wknd. Below: Uncle Jim making Stella laugh.
