1st attempt at solid food

IMG_2752
Stella is now past the 6 month mark and we started or attempted to start her on solid food. She gagged on the first couple of tastes, but she did continue to reach for the spoon and put the food in her mouth. 10/26/14

Beautiful day for a hike

Joe, Colby, Stella and the dogs took advantage of the beautiful Sunday weather with a nice hike up the mountain.
House Mountain's steep slopes are heavily wooded and possess a combination of beautiful views, rock outcrops, and significant bird and plant life. Rising nearly 1000 feet above the valley, visitors can see the ranges of the Blue Ridge and Cumberland Mountains.
After hiking to the top it was time to relax. Mom and Stella taking in the great views.
Stella liked to reach up and grab tree leaves when we stopped.
Just a great day to be outside enjoying perfect weather. With our new backpack that Cameron got us, we are planning on going on lots of hiking trips.

Fall Trip to NC: Woolly Worm Festival

This weekend, we took a trip to Banner Elk, NC to go to the Woolly Worm Festival. The weather on Saturday was a little brisk so we didn't stay too long. We were able to watch some Woolly Worm races and get some snacks.

Elise got us a delicious Woolly Worm cake to help celebrate the occasion

Fall Trip to NC: Hiking the Balds

We took a long weekend trip to NC to spend some time at the Sugar Top Condo, do some hiking and go to the Woolly Worm Festival. On Friday, we had some nice weather and decided to make a trip to Carvers Gap to hike the Balds.
Nuncle Cameron got Stella a really nice hiking backpack. She enjoyed the hike - once we blocked the wind using Elise's scarf!
She got so comfortable, that she was able to take a little snooze.
We hiked just past Jane Bald which took 2-3 hours (roundtrip) and was about 2.5 miles.

When we got back to the condo, we had time to take a dip in the pool and hot tub. Stella seemed to really enjoy the water.

Fall Trip to NC

We took a long weekend and made the drive over the Banner Elk, NC. Cameron and Elise were able to meet up with us too.
Nuncle Cameron came for a visit when Stella was a few weeks old but now that she is 6 months, they were really able to play together. She really likes her Nuncle.
Stella decided that she wanted to be twins with Elise...white shirts and jeans.

A few pictures from October - getting close to 6 months

Happy little girl. These are a few random pictures from October that we thought we would share.
The boys (Max & Gus) posed with the girls for a quick picture.
Stella can hold her own bottle at times, but still likes to hold on to Mom or Dad's finger while drinking.
Stella likes to sleep on her side at daycare. We were told that she is the happiest and calmest baby out of the group. Below - All snuggled up and cozy with her blanket for an afternoon nap.
